Artist Information:
I am Spanish although I have lived in the UK for many years. I have recently retired from Medical General Practice (GP) and now can dedicate more time to Art.
My mother was a professional painter and many of my family members and my own children are artists in various disciplines. I have spent a lot of time drawing and painting at home since I was a child as a form of entertainment. With my mother and her artists friends; I attended formal classes while at school. In the varoius places I have lived in this country I have worked and participated in group art, worshops and exhibitions.
When I came to live in Scotland I attended a 3-year evening course at Edinbugh Art College. After that I worked with Craig Mckechnie at Delta Studios in Larbert where I continue to spend time regularly.
At present I work mainly in my own studio in Stirling. My work is varied because I am curious and I like to experiment with different forms of art. I have worked with wood, plaster, slate, metal, to create sculptures, 3-dimensional work and collages etc. When I paint I often mix all mediums, expontaneously, reacting to the materials and paint as I work. Everything around me is a source of inspiration; towns and cities with their architecture, trees, people, colours, the suggestive hills and mountains of Scotland and other countries as well as the the sea.
I also make use of ideas which I find in Art Exhibitions, reading and discussions with other artists and friends.
