The strong links that exist between Stirling University Innovation Park (SUIP) the Scottish Executive and Stirling Council have been highlighted in the appointment of new directors to the Board of the business park’s management company.
The new directors' positions on the SUIP Ltd Board have been filled by Executive and Council representatives it was announced by Chairman Robbie Taylor.
Brian Devlin, Stirling Council’s Director of Environment Services, replaces Ian Fraser the Council’s Head of Economic Support and Development. Mr. Devlin has worked in local government for more than 27 years holding several senior positions including Head of Service with responsibility for policy and strategy. As Director of Regeneration Services he established Scotland’s first Urban Regeneration Company.
Dr. Louise Morrison, who has specialised in Life Sciences research, will represent the Scottish Executive.
Dr. Morrison has responsibility for overseeing the Executive's SME Collaborative Research Programme (SCORE), which encourages new links between Scottish-based SMEs and public sector research bodies by supporting collaborative R&D projects.
She is also a Programme Executive for the prestigious SMART: SCOTLAND scheme that supports SMEs in the development of highly innovative, technically challenging and commercially viable new products and processes.
Both of these programmes support the aims and objectives of SUIP initiatives including the Sporting Chance Initiative and Medi Sport, established to foster collaboration between academia, commerce and sport to develop products and services for sporting applications.
SUIP has also appointed accountant David A Shaw as Company Secretary. He replaces John Craig of Stirling University.

I am delighted that association continues with strong representation on our Board. Brian Devlin and Louise Morrison bring the knowledge and skills that will help us focus on our recently approved strategy of supporting companies in the fields of people centred healthcare, sports technology and environmental technologies. I am also pleased to welcome David Shaw as Company Secretary whose wide experience will be invaluable.”
